Siamese Algae Eater
Description
The Siamese Algae Eater is a slender brownish/grey color with a black horizontal stripe running from the nose down to the tail fork with a zigzagged edge, when stressed the black will fade in color.
They are ideal fish to keep your tank clean as they eat the algae from the rocks and plants and are perfect for beginners. The main reason they are good for biginners is because they are hardy and can be kept with most tropical fish.
Siamese Algae Eater though have a very mild nature and should not do them any harm, although they are quite active swimmers so smaller fish may feel a little intimidated by them. They are a wonderful fish to watch and will liven up any aquarium.
Housing
The temperature of the tank should be kept at around (74 – 78) (ph 6.5 – 8.0) They would benefit from an exterior power filter and a bio-wheel and no more than ¾ inch of gravel on the bottom.

They like to eat algae flakes, live plants or sinking granular as well as cleaning the tank by eating most of the algae they will eat the flatworms that can become a nuisance in the aquarium.
