The Bleeding Heart Tetra (Hyphessobrycon Erythrostigma) is one of the most attractive tetras having a deep reddish/gold colored body and a dark red spot in the centre resembling the heart, they are lively active fish and make a perfect addition to the aquarium. To sex the Bleeding Heart tetra is quite easy, the male have a long flowing dorsal fin which is mainly black with red at the base, whereas the females dorsal fin is rounded in shape with a pink splash of color at the top turning to bright white.

The Glowlight tetra (Hemigrammus Erythrozonus) has a semi-translucent body with a bright reddish/gold line running from the nose to the end of the body. The dorsal fin has a tiny hint of red and the pelvic and anal fins have white tips, the remainder of the fins are clear. It is quite easy to tell the sex of the Glowlight tetra as the females have a fuller thicker body than the male.

The Silvertip Tetra (Hasemania Nana) has an elongated bronze colored body with a silver tip tail and a black line at the rear end of the body, as with most of the fish the male Silvertip has a brighter nicer coloration than the female, during the night as the fish rests the black and bronze color changes to silver and returns in the morning when the fish becomes active again. They can grow up to 1.5 inches and have a lifespan of around 5 years.

The Black Widow tetra (Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi) has a disc shaped silver body with two dark black vertical bars on the middle of their body, if the fish is frightened these black marks will disappear and only return to normal after a few hours when the fish settles down again.
They are native to Paraguay, Basins of Southern Brazil and Argentina. They are very easy to keep and make a lovely addition to the aquarium as they are very proud fish that like to show off swimming around the tank with their fins erect. The Cardinal Tetra (Paracheirodon Axelrodii) have vivid blue and red stripes running from nose to start of tail and when kept in shoals of 10 or 12 will give your tank lots of color and interest, these fish are similar and closely related to the Neon tetra. They are very small and easy to keep growing up to 2 inch in length.

The Lemon Tetra is a peaceful, quite hardy and easy to keep fish, ideal for beginners. They are small fish with beautiful brightly colored yellow and black markings on the dorsal and anal fins.

The Black Ghost Knifefish is native to Africa and South East Asia. It gets its name from the unusual knife type shape and has a long tapered compressed body.
The young are yellow in color with a few wide brown to grey colored vertical stripes running from head to tail.

The Silver Dollar is from the Characidae family which is closely related to the Piranha, but unlike the Piranha fish they have a lovely friendly nature and are not aggressive towards other fish. They are iridescent silver/grey in color with hints of red with a darker greenish grey colored back; the anal fin has a pale tinge of silver on the front fading towards the back.
